A Phylogenetic Study of Dengue Virus in Urban Vietnam shows Long-term Persistence of Endemic Strains
"We observed 5 viral lineages co-circulating in Nha Trang from three DENV serotypes, with two likely to have remained as uninterrupted transmission chains for a decade. This, suggests clade cryptic persistence in the area, even in during periods of low reported incidence."

I don’t normally #toot in public, but here goes.
I am a #viral #enzymologist working as a #postdoc on #flaviviruses in Dr. Brian Geiss’ lab at #ColoradoStateUniversity. I focus on #WestNile with occasional forays into #SarsCoV2 with @lmalsick.

I am a #virologist / #PhDstudent at Colorado State University in Brian Geiss' lab!
I am currently interested in #bats 🦇 and how they avoid #disease in viral infection
Also working with different #flaviviruses ( #WNV #Zika #Dengue ) and helping @mmingroni with #SarsCoV2 helicase assays :) (aka he teaches me #proteins )
Figuring this platform out but excited to start!
