#flightgear is great and all but I think it really needs some attention on making scenery addons, such as Chicomicks Duxford scenery (for MSFS), i’d love to see some work in this space, I’ll probably do some work soon :)

Any livery suggestions for the #flightgear EC135? Preferably UK based airframes, I’m making a list of liveries to make (fictional ones allowed too, reference images too though please). :)

Finally solved the mouse-wheel problem I wrote about last week. https://fosstodon.org/@d7/110683509061259332

It seems that some technology called "high resolution scroll wheel" has been introduced (in the #Linux kernel and/or in libinput) since #Debian 11. When I finally found the terminology, I found some posts how to turn it off: https://www.linuxquestions.org/questions/linux-hardware-18/is-there-a-way-to-turn-off-high-resolution-scroll-wheel-support-for-a-mouse-4175704498/

This also minimized the hysteric scrolling in #flightgear. There's still that annoying smartphone-like scrolling going on, but at least it's more controlled.

Another thing regarding scrolling. Not sure if this is related to the #Debian 12 upgrade because I havent used #Flightgear in a while, but wtf is this (see video)? One step on the mouse's scroll wheel emulates some smartphone super-flicking and scrolls seemingly random number of rows, sometimes more than one page.

This smartphone-emulating trend on desktop computes must die :blobcatnotlikethis:

Playing #flightgear for a while with my new monitor (a smart TV actually), 4K resolution.

Really clearer than before, but the frame rate becomes low as it hits the top of the performance of my machine (4GB RAM)...

Settled in for a nice #Flightgear #Cessna172 cross-country flight from KSOP to Yazoo City MS, with a stopver in Rome GA.

Unfortunately the laptop crashed as I approached Charlotte.

Think it's a #Lubuntu issue and not Flightgear.

Either way, the laptop crashed and not me!

Did some more flying in #flightgear . Back on fixed wing, with the HawkT2, rather than my normal rotary wing. I really need to get back into development for this Hawk, the cockpit is sh*t.

When I fly I wear the same outfit lol my fave burgundy American Eagle sweats with zip up pockets .. and my polo flip flops and a thermal shirt … #FlightGear #LaGuardia
