I guess when the snow melts quickly, expect flooding to pick up quickly in the

alerts are now in place for the Mississippi River in Aitkin, the St. Croix River near Danbury, and the St. Louis River in Scanlon.

I would expect warnings to be issues in the near future for spring flooding.

County is under a effective Thursday afternoon, March 9 through Sunday morning. This weather event is expected to bring winds, heavy rain, flooding, and increased potential for power outages.

Due to very saturated soils, even winds on the lower end of the speed range can cause downed trees. When trees fall, this can be a threat to lives, cause power outages, and add debris to our roadways.
