As I was walking along the footpath that borders the woodland I came across a couple of #Flowering #Currant bushes (Ribes sanguineum).

@Former_Child_Star How unusual this is will depend on what Sophora species you've got. The Cook Strait kowhai, Sophora molloyi, which is a common shrubby kowhai planted in gardens, typically starts flowering in May and June. Others start flowering a bit later, but having some open flowers in July isn't too unusual.

It's certainly something worth keeping an eye on though.

A wee update for my work on photographing the (mainly) #flowering #plants in our #CommunityWoodland . I have now summarised the #species and, as at 30 June, I had photographed:
53 #native species
18 #alien (#NonNative) plants
Giving a total of 71 species

Plus 6 species of #fungi and #lichen

There are masses of #grasses, fungi, lichen and #trees which are NOT included in this. Perhaps work for future projects?

The video was filmed in the gardens around the #schönbrunn Palace in #vienna .The #gardens cover more than one square kilometre and are a mix of #landscapes that reflect the history of the #palace . A glorious mix of #woodland #parkland topiary, #flowering shrubs, rare #plants and landscaped flower displays (including #roses ).

Our daylilies are all gearing up to fill the #garden with their #spectacular display of #beautiful if fleeting #blooms.

We have #daylilies that #flower from #June through till the end of #August and although each flower only lasts a day, some of our plants will continue #flowering for a whole month.

These aren't the limp and insipid short & weedy things that your granny may have had. #Fabulous, #vivaceous & definitely not shy.

This one is called Ginger Swallowtail and flowers for weeks. 😀
