#Java was an instrumental adaptation from a 1958 LP of piano compositions by #AllenToussaint. The first charting version (although it fell just short of Top 40) was by #FloydCramer, charting in December 1962.

Cramer was 1/ the best session pianists, famous for his use of melodic "half step" attacks. His signature playing style was a cornerstone of the pop-oriented "Nashville sound" of the 1950s & 1960s.
