Neil Peart brings dexterity and mythos to an already solid core, but Rush is still searching for a sound. “By-Tor and the Snow Dog” is the first prog mini-epic in the catalogue, and “Anthem” and “In the End” provide lyrical nuggets for teens in boring subdivisions to carve into school desks – an essential medium for any young band.
