US Pilots wanting to fly GA in Europe have an interesting new option: https://airfactsjournal.com/2023/09/the-european-28-day-holiday-license/
Flew to Rushford Municipal airport (55Y) just for fun. It’s a gem of an airport (though I miss the courtesy car) in a beautiful part of #Minnesota. #aviation #flyga
The missus is going flying tomorrow morning, so I swung by the airport to top off the tanks because that’s the kind of husband I am. #flyga #PilotsOfMastadon
Flying GA at night is beautiful, and at greater risk. Stay safe, fellow pilots. #aviation #flyga https://generalaviationnews.com/2023/07/02/the-pitfalls-of-flying-at-night/
Today we got the chance to fly the Icon A5 amphibious airplane on Lake #Minnetonka, #Minnesota. #flyga #aviation

We’re headed to NYC tomorrow. I considered flying there myself, as it’s a bucket list item, but ultimately thought it unlikely we’d get there on time in a small airplane this time of year. Turns out that was a good call, as the forecast is for icing the whole way. #flyga #buthaveaplanb
2022 by the numbers: 79.6 hours, 55 landings, 7.2 actual IMC, 5.2 hours night, 46 complex/retract, 20 high performance. Flew P28A, P28B, P28R, P32R, and C150. Most exotic airport: TFFG, Saint Martin. First year I landed at Class Bravo airports: KIAD (Washington/Dulles), KORD (Chicago/O’Hare).
Not bad for this guy.
Oddly enough, the night instrument approach into Chicago Midway (KMDW) was easier than the day approach into KCGI.

On the ground in Hot Springs, Arkansas. Easy flight, much warmer here. #aviation #flyga #merrychristmaseve

A noteworthy distinction between the TAF and the MOS #weather forecasts: the computer-generated MOS makes no predictions about things like blowing snow causing IMC, while the human-generated TAF does. Now that my departure time is in range of the TAF, I see I need to decide if I want to do an IFR departure, as visibility is forecast at about two miles. The MOS indicates MVFR for broken ceilings at 2,500'. #aviation #flyga
Ok enough server stuff.... I'm tracking our club's 182 which is on a #LifeFlight mission.
