A little background before I introduce the tune that the Brain DJ has going this morning: I have never been able to be a fan of the Rolling Stones, but I do admire some of their songs. And so we have –
The Flying Burrito Brothers, "Wild Horses" (1970)
The song was gifted to Gram Parsons in December 1969, and the version by the Stones was released in 1971.

#nowplaying One of my all-time faves, but which I’ve never owned (or heard) on vinyl until today. What a treat! Pretty much a perfect album. I regard the opening of Dark End of the Street as one of the best introductions to any song, by anyone, ever. #flyingburritobrothers #gramparsons #ChrisHillman #sneakypete

Watching Netherlands v Argentina on local Chicago TV, muted so I can just watch the match but the #flyingburritobrothers are on the speakers. This to me is country rock, respect to #thebyrds. "Why Are You Crying?" https://youtu.be/6Ia4ihHW-1g
