Today in rough translations of Costa Rican sayings/adages for your professional life: 'Nadie nace aprendido' = Nobody is born learnt.

Have patience for yourself and others at the beginning of their journeys with a new knowledge.

Everything you know now, it was new to you at some point, and will be new for many other people today.

"El haragán y el mezquino, hacen dos veces el camino" = Lazy and Petty walk the road twice!
I say this to myself often when I take a shortcut and it backfires -- specially when , and generally after an expletive. Is a reminder to not do things half-arsed, and to try and do them in a good mood and best intentions. when possible.

“Al mejor mono se le cae el zapote” = Even the best monkey drops the zapote fruit. I use it to convey that even experts have a bad day, equivalent to “dropping the ball” in US slang. I mostly use it to excuse myself.

This one is particularly funny to me since I grew up with a zapote tree in my backyard (awful and very slippery fruit!) and a howling monkey came to visit often.

So many times I want to use popular sayings in my English work environment, that I’m thinking to share them on their own hashtag
