Interesting: despite the mess with Pride night last season (and the likelihood that no themed warm-up jerseys will happen at all this season) both teams I follow have Pride night on their schedule for 2023-2024.

Whoa, apparently I missed it today (the day was sort of go-go-go trying to wrap by 5PM), but Terry was signed at the last possible minute (pre-arbitration hearing) by the Ducks for 7x7M. Surprised it's not 8 years, but that number is fair (I was expecting something in the 6.5 range).

The fact that the Ducks proposed 4.5M for arbitration was ridiculous, seeing as Strome makes 5M and Terry outperforms him.

Little surprised that the Ducks didn't give Dostal a bit more term and/or money (though he got a nice AHL salary bump). I know he didn't have arbitration, but he's the backup and a two-way contract (year 1) is a little unusual with no one else in the org with any NHL games after him (there are two G on ELCs, who might be in the AHL).

Also the Ducks are still *under* the cap floor. Yeah they still have to sign a few players, but still...

Just read on a rumor site that apparently Ana is one of the teams with interest in DeBrincat.

I'm sure they kicked the tires and they have room (he wants 8.775x8), but that's a win now move and they are at least 2 years from seriously competing (that's me being optimistic). Also if the Sens want an impact player in return that means Terry (could be Zegras or McTavish, but I think the Sens need a wing more than a center).

Also the Gibson mess, yikes.

Apparently Gibson formally requested a trade from the Ducks this year (he was available last year, but I don't think a formal request was put in). I'm torn since I don't think Dostal is ready to be the starter, but I also don't think having Gibson around post request will help the team.

Also a little worried as a Pens fan that they decide to spend their goalie money on him. Not sure Jarry is better, but I don't think Gibson at 6.4M x 4 more years is worth it.
