Gosto muito do #Foliate para ler um #ebook no pc (que eu saiba só existe para o:linux:). Mas, para quem não sabe, também existe uma versão para o #browser. É menos desenvolvida, mas pode ser muito conveniente.

had been meaning to look into this format after installing #Foliate a while ago cause I seen that it mentioned supporting it and was unfamiliar with the standard. I was just browsing @libreture's website after seeing a post by them go through my feed and saw they have a section on supporting it as well.

@tuxmachines@mastodon.technology #Foliate has a really nice UI but it's also REALLY slow. Every one who likes Foliate should also try #FBReader this works also on linux mobiles - for the configuration it's good to have a bt mouse - but it's MUCH faster and i use(d) it on even a #Nokia #N810 with 128mb ram and 400mhz. This setup is even faster than foliate on a #Librem5 - and yes, i use #FBReader also on the @purism device ;) why not creating a new fancy ui for #FBReader?!

Had installed #Foliate (ebook reader) a month ago on ManjaroARM Phosh, but it's the first time tonight I launched it and... segmentation fault. Something about conflicting versions of WebKit and libsoup. 🤷‍♀️

Let's chuck that into the growing pile of reasons to flash something else on that #Pinephone.

Maybe I'll give postmarketOS edge a shot again. Hoping sound is no longer being broken every other update. (it's still happening on my other Pinephone)

@normandc Sounds great! Currently I read quite a few #ebooks that are available to borrow through the public library system via the Libby / Overdrive app. I'm sure they're probably #DRM'd up the wazoo, but it does let you download them. Do you think there's any chance of them working in #Foliate?

I installed it from flathub. It looks really nice, I have not spent much time with it yet but it seems pretty usable, with a lot of settings (background color, font type and size, margins...)

I haven't found sizing issues like on Geary and other GTK apps. It seems like an ideal app on #Phosh. 👍

Using #Mobian #unstable #Pinephone as a daily driver

With my getting my 1st vaccine shot last Saturday, I was told to expect to resume work at the company's office starting in June. This means I will no longer need the 2FA app on my Android phone to connect to the company's VPN. That's one less thing to worry about.

I'm periodically an avid ebook reader. I've explored #Foliate and it looks great on the PP. It can connect to Standard eBooks, Feedbooks and Project Gutenberg online catalogs.
