#OldSchoolDungeonsAndDragons honestly and many post #osr and #nsr games, #dnd heartbreakers and hacks in all of their glory (#folkdnd). For me, old school #dnd offers a robust „grammar“ for creating various blends of adventure gaming. I also love the mechanics of #TrophyGoldRPG because they facilitate cooperative storytelling in an astonishing manner. And: much love for #PbtA systems (pl). i see pbta as a „grammar“ for hyperfocused genre emulation

As recently as last year I played in a #Cyberpunk2020 game. (We started it up after #CyberpunkRed came out, so bonus points for old!)

I’m also looking at weaving in #B2 Keep on the Borderlands into my upcoming #ShadowDark game as an homage for any old grogs in the group.

If a B/X clone like #OSE counts as old, I basically am an expert at #FolkDnD and even jumped into backing the upcoming #Dolmenwood iteration!

I still do the #FolkDnD thing. We start out with the core rules and then add and subtract, amend or change anything that doesn’t fit the particular group. It’s not a conscious thing, just the way I learned to play the game when I was a kid.

The #DnD / #OSR scene is so transparent. I'm sure it won't be long before almost everyone who can throw a #d20 is calling #Knave2e the best #ttrpg since sliced bread was invented. The usual influencers will praise the machination and every wannabe Mimic will join in the chorus of praise. Another redundant, unnecessary clone will have ridiculous amounts of money thrown at it. Why come up with something of your own when you can cash in on more and more of the same.

Falls noch jemand eine Frage hat, warum ich eine Anti #CorporateDnD #Hasbro #WotC -Position vertrete, sollte dies mittlerweile geklärt sein, oder? #MagicTheGathering und Corporate #DnD ein stetiger Quell der Freude. #FolkDnD, aka #OSR, soll viel besser sein. Sorry, da muss ich lachen, es stärkt am Ende die Marke #DnD und auch in der Szene tummeln sich geile Reaktionäre (etc.). Zum mentalen Clusterfuck von #MTG sag ich nichts. Macht doch so viel Spaß (ähnlich wie bei #Disney)… #WTF!

I still think there was a huge breach of trust and think the silver lining is going to be more diversity, but also more interoperability AND clearer licensing in the future. I know I am still of the camp of leaving #wotc behind as a steward of the game.
