An idyllic #cycling Sunday. A group of us #FolkRidingBikes rode out through the countryside from Liverpool to Rainford (where I grew up).

After Sunday lunch at the Derby Arms we whiled away the afternoon playing crown green bowls before a ride back home.

Last night was a lovely evening for a group ride. We took in Everton Brow (the view at the start of the video), then Stanley Park, Anfield Cemetery and Walton Hall Park.

The kissing gates in Walton Hall Park, as ever, are a bit more of a challenge for getting a group through 😀

Then along the Loop Line to Broadgreen, and back into town via the Mystery.

Last night's #FolkRidingBikes group social #InTheSaddle ride split into two rides.

We headed North, through Newsham Park, along the loop line to Walton Hall Park and back through Anfield Cemetery, Stanley Park and over Everton Brow to Sefton Park.

We got there just in time to welcome the women-only ride, led by @Styles, who'd done a circuit in the South.

Then we got to watch Freedom Machine, after some top vegan curry.

Lovely route though, and still excellent fun. Chippy stop at Parkgate and the bike-powered gig at #FutureYard was great.

Superb group #InTheSaddle #FolkRidingBikes this evening.

We caught the ferry over to Seacombe; had a brief stop at the Ferry inn while waiting for stragglers; then a ride round the Wirral coast to West Kirby.

Pizza and a pint at the West Kirby Tap; then a ride back all the way to Liverpool.

There was one other person in the Mersey Tunnel when we rode through it - the policeman escorting us (it's closed to cars while they're upgrading the lighting)

Last Friday was Ladies Day at Aintree. It wasn't the best weather, but made for some dramatic skies on our #FolkRidingBikes group #InTheSaddle ride, through Newsham Park and Stockbridge Village over to Kirkby and back through Walton and Bootle, catching the remnants of the racegoers in the city centre.
