Hey @atpfm, @siracusa, @marcoarment and @caseyliss, the challenge of the cable length is sorted with the new V4 Superchargers that are starting to roll out: https://www.theverge.com/2023/4/19/23689247/tesla-v4-supercharger-ev-first-specs-rollout
For the voltage, the current v3 supercharger hardware is rated to 1000v. They would have to be enabled to use it. V4s also have a 1000v rating: https://insideevs.com/news/675821/v4-tesla-supercharger-charging-france/
#followup ...its just an invite, to some admins that will just look like spam or not sharing the same values.
Meta's all about filling people with ads.
Mastodon, here admins ask for donations if they can't cover the #server and #bandwidth #costs.
And because #Mastodon is #OpenSource if I wanted to I could make an instance, and make everyone who registers first pay 10 dollars before they can post on my instance.
I have the #law with me in this due to the license of Mastodon.
#law #OpenSource #Mastodon #costs #bandwidth #Server #followup
#followup thing needed to be #clarified here is that this is #legal to do because the #Mastodon software is #licensed with
GNU Affero General Public License, version 3.0 #GNUAffero.
Just read https://github.com/mastodon/mastodon/blob/main/LICENSE which is the #LegalStuff for the #ServerSoftware.(which we all know has a #WebInterface #client included, so you got it all there)
You can start a company, make a #Profit and you are not legally required to give anything to anyone.
#OpenSource folks!

It's true: JWST really did find the most distant proto-cluster of galaxies ever. Here's what it's teaching us about how the Universe grew up
A quick #FollowUp on my toot: Just discovered #Bailey’s #Strawberry & #Cream (alcoholic beverage). If you disregard or dislike the taste of #Gin and instead enjoy the taste of #Strawberries, then this one is for you.
You don’t need extra #Milk. 🤣

A lot of people are claiming that JWST's "early, massive galaxies" contradict the Big Bang. But what do the observations really tell us?
Okay, turns out that owner of this book, written on the inside cover, was a man named Elmer Daugherty who worked in a Newcomerstown, Ohio bakery from 1900 to before 1910. #FollowUp

so the news today is that the person driving the semi that crashed and released a bunch of nitric acid died in the crash. He was traveling with a service dog, and the dog is OK, was found by nearby residents, and is being reunited with the drivers' family.
A terrible news/good news update.
@atpfm If I may #followup to my #askatp Unknown caller question: You got very focused on blocking - I was actually asking about identifying the callers. I suspect all Swedish zoomers have the Settings - Phone - Silence Unknown Callers option that @marcoarment mentioned enabled, and then look up missed incoming calls on sites like vemringde.se or hitta.se to identify who the caller was and decide if they can ignore the call or need to text back... These sites also let users report spam calls and offer apps that work like the NoMoRobo app you guys mentioned, but since they also offer a phone directory service, not only blocking, these apps aggressively ask for permission to your contacts, which they use to populate their phone number catalogue database. I am not okay with that at all and will never install an app that requires me to share all my contacts and I am quite upset people share their contacts this way, making private and unlisted phone numbers searchable. But people do! Most just think about the convenience.
Still, this is all after-the-fact lookup, it would be nice if our super smart global internet devices could tell me who is calling me even if I do not already have that contact! I would enable the "share my caller info" option, that would share my name, title, company, location and a avatar to other (i)phones I call, in a heartbeat. Yes, I understand how this would immediately be exploited, but I think Apple could find good ways to solve this, for example by still clearly indicating if a caller is not in your contacts. While Apple could do this for iPhones using iCloud, this could also be a new open API so that all the big "yellow dictionary" providers can offer number lookup as a service. A whole new service category where Apple can take it's cut and a new way for these service providers and maybe also phone companies to profit, while offering a valuable service currently missing - to identify and provide information about incoming calls and callers

Looks like the fitbit is finally coming back. Other than I lost some data for today, seems most of what it is supposed to be tracking is slowly making it back (*knock on wood*). Not a peep out of #FitbitSupport in terms of update, etc. Oh well.
Whew! Life goes on.

Not an answer to Marco, but I’ve been very happy with this Belkin charging brick. It can feed the power-hungry Intel 16” MBP and has an extra USB-C plus two USB-A ports. It’s the only brick I take when traveling along with a mess of C, A, lightning, and “wireless” cables.
I got it when Apple’s supply-chain issues prevented me from replacing an Apple brick that walked away. Now I won’t buy another Apple charger again.
