Gary's in St. Helena just announced it is closing. It will stay open until the vast majority of its inventory (wine, booze, food, kitchen stuff) is sold. Company says wildfires, COVID and "many other issues" made it hard to operate the store.

Gary's says gift cards can be redeemed in store right now until closure or online at garyswine.com. "Thank you for being part of our journey. We look forward to seeing you in the store in the next few weeks and continuing to serve you online."

Here's my #foodbro #foodnews #hottake for the day: any restaurant that requires the staff to not laugh is a restaurant I can't support. Laughter is the most human thing we do and believe it or not, I think it's more important than fine cuisine.
Maybe it's because I am in pastry, but I don't take even myself that seriously. I mean, I put fritos in cakes. It's great.

🍕 Food news: Sonoma County-based Mary's Pizza Shack announced today that it is closing its Dixon, Napa and Novato locations as part of company wide restructuring and due to "unchanging realities of increased food & labor costs mixed w/other compounding issues facing our industry." They call it a "difficult decision." All other locations will remain open.
