Wondering if I can get a decent flavour from chicken marinated in yoghurt and Capsicum puree and spices then make a sauce from sauteed onions and aromatics with long grain rice on the side.

For whatever reason today, I have ean overwhelming urge to chop up a ton of ginger and put it in everything…. Liiiiiike…, a ginger, coconut rice… a nice vegetable, curry sauce full of ginger and coriander…, maybe even grated and use it in the crust of some chicken tenders …

im sure I’ll be sick of it by tomorrow

Whoever came up with the chemical name for vinegar was probably like "hmm yeah this acid is acidic"

In the years just before I became vegetarian (over 20 yrs ago), I lived near my brother and family. They had a baby then, so on most weekends I would shop and prepare a fabulous, sometimes outrageous, meal for them.

I was just talking to one of their friends who would often be at these "events" and he told me he still makes some of the dishes from those days. He cooked one of my Indian non-vegetarian recipes for his family for xmas. To rave reviews.

I love how recipes transcend time. How they can evoke such happy memories each time they are cooked. To me they are better than a photo album.

I love how recipes get passed from person to person and each time they can be adjusted a little. Like Chinese Whispers, eventually they take on a life of their own.

I have some problems with the current popularity of food and food writing. Food is about community not influencers.

Hot sauce thoughts 👇🏽

I love spicy foods. I'm not a total chili head to the point where EVERYTHING needs to be spicy, but I generally dig the heat. My love of spicy foods started with Mexican food. Then later in life I discovered other foods that could bring the heat.

Indian food. Hotter versions of Cajun stuff. Jamaican food. Thai.

So... what about Buffalo Wings?
I like them, but I find the standard sauce for them a bit Meh. A lot of "traditional" wing intended sauce is basically some peppers but huge on vinegar. I'm not a fan of that on wings!

I find that I prefer hot sauces that have characteristics beyond Hot plus Tangy.
When I can afford Buffalo Wild Wings, I never order standard Buffalo sauce. Jamaican jerk, mango habanero or spicy garlic are way more interesting.

I think if I could design my ideal hot wing sauce it would cross the characteristics of an Indian curry base with tropical fruit notes. Punjabi vacation in the Bahamas in a bottle, basically.

why do vegan products advertise themselves as being palatable to meat-eaters. THESE PEOPLE EAT HOT DOGS, THEIR TASTE BUDS ARE BROKEN

I'm not a sweet potato person. My Maw Maw used to make sweet potato casserole with the marshmallows on top.... I enjoyed that. But I don't do sweet potato fries, or baked sweet potatoes...... Not sure why.
