It is impossible to pick a favourite tree or plant, but if someone held a gun to my head, I would say a Carpathian / English walnut. Delicious and healthy nuts, lush foliage, and lovely fragrant green fruits which are edible in their own way. I try and make a batch of nocino every year with unripe nuts, and this year I am trying out a recipe of pickled walnuts as well. #gardening #garden #foraging #foragingfood #cooking
