#ironsworn / #starforged of course. #ForbiddenLands has solo rules in it's book of beast, but while they're not bad, I'd prefer rules specifically designed for solo.

#ForbiddenLands is simple enough to be picked up within 30minutes, max, yet flexible enough to argue about whether there is a best weapon for days (spoiler: there isn't, they all have uses. Excellent for a system with 2 weapon stats...)

The new #DragonBane unites several clever & acclaimed mechanics. It looks *very* promising but I only have limited experience with it at this point.

I love how #forbiddenlands takes a small amount of mechanics and turns it into a game with very tactical combat and character choices that really matter.

Besides that, @johnharper 's #bladesinthedark is simply genius. Take a genre most of us love (come on - outsmarting everyone, being one step ahead of your target, pulling the most daring heists... you love it, too) and make it actually work as a game which lives of good planing, not through good planning.

Gestern hatten wir die #SessionZero für eine neue #VerboteneLande Runde. Ein Spieler hat für seinen Charakter den Namen "Vergevil" aus der vorgegeben Namensliste ausgesucht. Da wir alle ein bisschen klassische Bildung genossen haben und wir außerdem alberne Spaßvögel sind, heißen die anderen Charaktere jetzt "Odivid", "Horozaz" und "Sapaphora".

1) First RPG i played (this year)
First RPG I ever Played was D&D. Nuff said about that, so I’ll focus on this year, and that was #ForbiddenLands, as the Symbaroum Group, sadly, didn’t take off.

Anyway, Forbidden Lands is a nice and sadly neglected/underrated Hex Crawler by #FreeLeague with a lot of OSR energy going for it. It uses the Year Zero engine and is appropriately deadly, forcing players to make better use of their wits than their character sheets.
I love it.

Second proper #ForbiddenLands session, and I thoroughly enjoyed it even though I was rather tired from the beginning.

Having no string to follow still makes me a bit uncomfortable, but it actually matches my usual GM style rather well - just let the players wander around and try to let the world react in a believable way. And I also always enjoy improvising quirky, or even crotchety geezers to irk the players.

Ein kleiner Tipp für Euch #OSR DMs: das "Book of Beasts" von #FreeLeague ist erschienen und bringt wie erhofft tolle Ideen für #ttrpg Spielleitungen. Die Monster haben nämlich gleich Ereignisse, Begegnungen und besondere Fähigkeiten in ihrer Beschreibung, sodass sie direkt in One-Shots oder Kampagnen geworfen werden können. Finde ich enorm nützlich.
