Being a Forever GM, I don't really get to have one of those

Although I am fond of the brief time I played Commander Soval (no relation) in somebody else's Star Trek game awhile back. Think all the snark from Richard Dean Anderson's Colonel O'Neill from SG-1, but wrapped up in a Vulcan package.

Favorite game you never get to play: As a Forever GM, I almost never get to play any RPG on the tabletop.

Now, there's those TimeWatch and Night's Black Agents mini-campaigns that I keep threatening my players with, but those are more "fun concepts to play around with" at this point.

Apparently #MutantsAndMasterminds, that’s freakin’ what. Because again the Foundry support slaps, that’s why. Plus it has a different and interesting take on point-buy mechanics.

Last night's #Pathfinder session was a rollercoaster. Started with a bar fight, ended with watching a young artist's dreams die. In between there was gambling, running into an old friend, fish stew, and some proselytizing (through pamphlets!). And now they're planning a casino heist.

Broadcast; telegraph; whatever you want to call it, we as GMs need to let our players know when a big attack or ability is on the way. It's something that video games do well, some sort of tick or wind-up to let you know to DODGE. But it's something I've struggled with for a while, I'm getting better about it, but I'm not quite there yet. "the ooze reaches out grasping at you"; "a giant pulls its club back for a big swing"; "the dragon draws in a breath".

I've been having way too much fun writing up in-world journal entries for #ShatteredStar. It provides both a way to flesh out the world and drop clues for players, who knows if I'll ever hand them over though. Anyway, creative writing!

Note to self: players are a much bigger danger to themselves than any monster you can throw at them. Explicitly warned that there are dangerous unstable chemicals in a lab and they begin dropping things.

In a rather early post here, I mentioned my 3 Laws of Gaming. The first of which I thought was very clever. "The story that comes out of a session is more important than the story that goes into it." But whenever I've mentioned it, it seems like other people don't get my meaning. It's more or less my version of "play to find out," but as a #foreverGM , i phrased it that way to inform my prep.

#Hobbystreak for today is finishing up the #foreverGM screen! This is a very cool set, packs up nicely and has room inside for dice towers, boxes, etc.. I just haven't printed them yet, so it packs even smaller than the photo. Super excited to use it Sunday for #Pathfinder.

Panel 2 of the #foreverGM screen just came off the #3dprinter and panel 3 is warming up as I type this. If all goes well, I maybe will have it ready for a "test run" at Sunday's #ShatteredStar game.

Tried to post this last night but was having #certbot issues. Current #Hobbystreak project - #3dprinting a GM screen for #Pathfinder along with a travel box to keep the #foreverGM goodies in. Initiative trackers, dice boxes, and a small pencil box all should fit inside.
Three "gold" filament is a bit more yellow than I'd like; debating if I could prime and paint it.
