I can't help but wonder what you do with the metal from failed blades. I assume you can't make a new blade with it, but can it be recycled/upcycled into something else?

Playing #AgeofEmpires years ago, I used to think it was highly unrealistic that swordsmen would go around cutting down buildings… until I found #forgedinfire

We're watching an old episode of #ForgedInFire and so far three people have failed to meet the first round parameters by turning in blades too short or too long, one guy cut too much metal off so his blade was too narrow and thin, and another has cut too much off the guard he was making for the knife in round two so has had to start again. It's nice when TV programmes have special editions where they allow complete idiots to compete.

In last night’s dream, contestants on Forged in Fire were sent back to their home forges and given 4 days to make that iconic weapon from history—the battle go cart!

I discovered Master of Arms, the TV "reality contest" show about recreating historical weapons. I like it better than Forged in Fire, as it lacked the gimmicks (i.e. source this metal from a burned out SUV, etc.). It was about the craftsmanship and performance, not the "good enough in a short time frame". Plus they give tips on smithing and crafting. Overall I like it better. Too bad it only got one season of 8 episodes.

Got an old #ForgedInFire on as the evening's coming to a close and one of the contestants is wearing a #kilt. But his kilt only comes down to mid-thigh level. It's less a kilt and more a Japanese schoolgirl cosplay. It's unsettling.

Friday night's a drinky night so we're catching up with a drinky night programme we've recorded in the form of #ForgedInFire. We've watched so many of these we're arguably capable in theory of making weaponry for the world after the upcoming apocalypse. If I had a drink for every time my wife said "That's not hot enough to quench, you twat!" or "Drill deeper for Raindrop Damascus you muppet!" I'd be even drunker than I am now.

I've found an alternative version, that while having fancy double-quotes, reverses them and starts sentences that are spoken dialogue with single-quotes, so I'll fix that tomorrow ready for the next time I fancy reading #ArtemisFowl
