Beginning to think about how to approach #FOSDEM next year, as it's officially become an opportunity I can't miss. But I both value my health and can't take unnecessary risks with COVID, and I authored and signed the @phpledge.

I foresee lots of time spent bundled up outdoors, or maybe a fringe event.

Maybe I can work with a subset of DevRoom organizers to put common sense precautions in place, such people like me can actually participate.

I remember vaguely that at #FOSDEM a last couple of years someone argued mongoDB had released its software as FOSS software not because it respected freedom of users but because it wanted to lure as many users as possible wirh freemium model.

I am wondering what would happen to the data on mongoDB cloud, which has become too large to move to another service. There might not be a plan to use them to feed an AI model?

Why do I always miss cool FOSS events? In February, I realized I could have visited the #FOSDEM, and now I am missing out on this year's #FrOSCon. Even more annoying: Both are free and are just a couple of hours train ride from me 😒
