took a day off for a hike and walked back home from the final stop of the local bus line.

about 15 km, across fields and thankfully forest, (stupid idea, way too hot in the sun)

the fields all have dry cracks of ten centimeters,

red means 0% plant available water in the top 25 cm of the soil
