I was born to a 20min neighbourhood. My 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿market town had a library, hospital, surgery, police & fire station, schools, banks. Green groceries, butchers - abattoir, sweet shop, cafes, pubs, cinema, theatre, toy shop, iron mongers, milk man, deposit return, all locally owned businesses. Then out of town retail came. End
