Remember last week when I tried out a glass pen and a bunch of ink samples?
It was a little frustrating because I loved the shimmer ink but found the glass pen scratchy.
I ordered some new pens based on my experience and people's advice, and this thread contains my findings and swatches!

Today I decided to only do fun projects--ones that I'd been meaning to do.
I did a lot of journaling and journal decoration, and later I broke out a glass dip pen and a set of #fountainpen ink samples I'd never gotten around to trying.
This glass pen, though. I don't know if it's representative of the genre, but it sure is tricky to write with. It has a nice smooth point at one angle, but ink will never flow to it. If I rotate the pen to a scratchier part of the point, it works. But scratchy!
New #fountainPen in the collection: a Pilot Falcon, 14k gold nib (not gold plated), soft fine.
Officially the most expensive one I own now (at 3x the previous high-water mark), and somehow it's too light to seem anywhere near reasonable but... gold nib pen. Monkey see, monkey get.
Well, I fucked up my Pilot Metropolitan badly enough that it has to be thrown away. I'm not ready to invest in a more expensive pen so there's another in the mail. #FountainPen
I'm writing a hell of a lot (journal, letters, notes, etc.) so I can burn through this ink cartridge for my Pilot Metropolitan. I've got a CON-40 piston converter and Monteverde "Mightnight Black" ink but I swear I'm not switching over until this disposable cartridge is dry. #FountainPen
I ordered a Pilot Metropolitan #FountainPen on Jen Myers' recommendation. I haven't used a fountain pen before but I'm curious to try it out. https://tinyletter.com/jenmyers/letters/tell-your-own-story-and-you-will-be-interesting
