Inks swatched: 229
Inks not swatched: a bunch of cartridges, will do as I use them
Wet swatches to do: 59 + whatever cartridge swatches is added
Wet swatches reused from earlier attempts: 170

I have a hankering for (more) shimmer inks, been considering buying some more and looking at colours, and then I finally remembered I have 31 shimmer inks I've never used, just swatched, from the Diamine advent calendars. #FountainPenInks

We've made some improvements to the community bot!
* Detects and recovers from network blips automatically and fast (less downtime!)
* Now monitors #FountainPen, #FountainPens, #FountainPenInk, #FountainPenInks, and #penfount
* Replies to existing boosted threads are no longer boosted even if they're tagged
* Bot no longer boosts the bot's own posts

@wvc to be fair, most #FountainPenInks don’t fade over time either unless they’re exposed to sunlight. And there are plenty of archival ink choices (like registrar’s inks, pigment archival inks, etc.). We have historical manuscripts written in pen from centuries ago that are just fine.

I inked four more pens, and took the chance to write ink swatches for those inks. So, four more posts to my #FountainPenInks thread (this and three more).

The Pelikan Dunkelgrün bottle misbehaved. Ah well, I guess this is one way to get the proverbial green thumb. #FountainPens #fountainpeninks

@penfount Does anyone have favorite warm-toned and not dry ink recommendations?

I tend towards cool tones and have a lot of greens/blues/purples/pinks, but I struggle especially with oranges, yellows, and browns! Reds, coppers, or other warm tones welcome too. 🧡💛🤎❤️

Here is a swab card of the Colorverse NGC 1850. I included one slightly blurred to pull out the color of the shimmer

As to the pen, it has a really good feel in the hand. I have a TWSBI Eco, and the Diamond ALR definitely feels like a solid step up. The color is gorgeous. I have a deep love of Teal-ish colors (blueish leaning for me). It writes VERY smoothly. I also appreciate the machining on the grip. It is a great pen!

And being a lover of teal-ish colors, I saw the ink swab and writing samples for the NGC 1850 on Goulet, and the beautiful main color along with the shimmer and the gorgeous burgundy sheen just called to me.

I recently realized that the reason I haven't made any fountain pen posts is that I have a shame associated to my penmanship. But of course, who cares. Good penmanship is something to aspire to if I choose, but it shouldn't hold me back from expressing joy over enjoying fountain pens and inks.

Granted, for this photo, I made effort to make it neat and legible. But maybe I just need to post more and worry less.

Here are two of my latest acquisitions. The Special Edition TWSBI Diamond 580 ALR in Prussian Blue, and a fitting ink for it, the Colorverse NGC 1850.

Hard to see the detail of the ink, but maybe I'll do a swab card and post it later.

This is an appreciation post for one of my favorite #FountainPens. I have a modest collection of Sailor Pro Gear Slims, and of them one of my two favorites (the other being the Magic of Alice colorway) is… Nuts! Besides having the best name, it’s a wonderful army green with amber accents. And it comes with a matching bottle of Sailor Manyo Shirakashi ink, which is probably my favorite brown.

Succumbed to the joys of buying ink samples instead of entire bottles. I forgot to check if Wearingeul Path was being sold in the Everything Calligraphy booth at the Manila Pen Show 2023. I was also relieved I forgot, because the bottle is pricey. I ended up buying 2 x 3ml samples of Wearingeul Path and one of Half Moon with Dimmed Light (don't you just love these ink names?) #FountainPenInks
