I've taken an interest in #SoloRPG dungeon crawling games lately. #NoteQuest is nice, but combat is a bit simplistic in my view. Looking at #FourAgainstDarkness now which looks promising. The fact that you have four chars and not just one allows for more depth. I also backed the #2d6Dungeon Kickstarter which has another week to go - it seems to have the best combat system. #D100dungeon also looks great and has a supplement for #HexCrawling, which also interests me.

Up until this week, while working on my #Dungeon23 challenge, I haven't actually drawn any actual dungeons.

With my dice rolls so far, I've encountered some ruins and a keep (some you can see in a previous post), but I've now discovered a dungeon and I've started mapping it out.

And oh how fun it is! I've mapped out dungeons while playing #FourAgainstDarkness and its tables, but this is the first that's all freehand. This has definitely been an entertaining and creative challenge.

My latest #TTRPG acquisitions: The One Ring 2E core rulebook (received for Xmas), the "Tales from the Adventurers' Guild" supplement for Four Against Darkness (gift for myself), and the "Tome of Adventure Design" (via the awesome @seanpkelley, who sold me his 1st edition of the book. Thx Sean!).

The latter two will surely help with content and ideas for my attempt at the #dungeon23 challenge (update on that soon). But I have a LOT of reading to do!

I've played a few "days" of the game Four Against the Great Old Ones. Never played any of the Four Against Darkness books, and I think this might be the beginning of a beautiful friendship.

@JoshP Thanks! Inline Scripts is the core of my setup. That and the TTRPG Statblocks I picked up from your videos. The tables are working well. I have pretty much all of the #FourAgainstDarkness mechanics rolling within #Obsidian with buttons. A future plan is to rewrite my functions to be flexible enough to roll results or accept my roll input to keep some hands on with real dice rolls. I’ve spent money on pretty dice, I need to actually use them!

@drewfranz Many people have been using #ObsidianMD for their TTRPGs. Piecing things together from inspiration shared by others. Check out @JoshP and his great videos at https://youtube.com/@JoshPlunkett. I’m sure my approach is a bit of a hack to get the results I want. I look forward to learning more and refining things as I play around. A lot of the actual resources I can’t share because it’s from the #FourAgainstDarkness book, but I may write up the approach or do a video in the future.

A weekend of putting #FourAgainstDarkness into #ObsidianMD to facilitate my solo sessions. Finally playable after three restarts as I learn Obsidian, Obsidians plug-ins, and remember & expand on my JavaScript. I already have notes for modifying my scripts, but want to get some actual use in play before the next refinements! 🗿 #ObsidianTTRPG
