I'm thinking of making my #fourdayweek empty day Wednesday instead of Friday. This would introduce a new mid-week weekend and shorten the current three-day weekend, but render every working day no more than one day away from a weekend. What have I missed? 🤔

Quietly but surely, the four-day working week is taking hold in the UK. Some 60 companies took part in an initial six-month test between June and December 2022.

The largest one was conducted by the "4 Day Week Global" campaign, which was launched in 2019 in several Western countries.

The principle is the same everywhere: Employees work 20% fewer hours, but keep 100% of their pay and have the same work objectives.

I don't work Fridays, so I've had my usual long run, pilates and then lunch with my sister.

Going back to a 5 day week would be such a loss. I'm not surprised so many studies show it works for people and their employers.

@firstdogonthemoon Being well indoctrinated into the five-day work week, and still very slight traumatised from working casual in my youth a decade or two ago (to the point of loosing track of “days of the week” and only knowing if it was a workday or not) I just don’t see a four-day week ever really happening.
