How Rupert Murdoch Destroyed the News

The FCC invited public comment on our request to them to investigate the fitness of the Murdoch family to hold broadcast licenses.
Excellent. This is a win for people power. Fox opposed this action but the FCC took our side.

"the majority of newsrooms are dropping the ball, willfully taking part in a Fox News rehabilitation tour led by Bret Baier and Martha MacCallum. "
"Most outlets still haven't worked up the courage to describe Fox News as a 'right-wing channel.' " The WaPo "described the channel's evening programming as "conservative leaning." Calling that language weak would be generous."

Former GOP FCC Chair Alfred Sikes Backs Fox License Hearing
https://www.nexttv.com/news/former-gop-fcc-chair-alfred-sikes-backs-fox-license-hearing
Hearing would be an inquiry into whether Rupert and Lachlan Murdoch, or Fox Corp meet the character standards to own broadcast TV stations.
Fox News anchors Martha MacCallum and Bret Baier are major vectors of misinformation
They are moderating the GOP debate this week.
In the past few weeks a number of ex-FCC commissioners have come out in support of our petition: Duggan, Sikes, and Reed Hundt have all urged the FCC act. The first step is simple — to hold a hearing. It is the least the @FCC can do.
Both Republican and Democratic commissioners and over FCC experts have spoken out. The FCC cannot ignore them and must act.
Sikes joins former Fox executive Preston Padden, past FCC Commissioner Ervin Duggan, former Fox commentator Bill Kristoland us, @MAD_democracy, in urging the FCC to hold Murdoch accountable for his democracy-damaging lies.
We saw Tucker Carlson pushed out at Fox and replaced.
The problem is not just the hosts — it’s the owners. Rupert and Lachlan Murdoch own Fox News and FCC-regulated broadcast TV stations.
Former Republican FCC Chairman Al Sikes joins us in asking the FCC to scrutinize Murdoch/Fox TV licenses.
“The FCC must designate for a hearing the application of the Murdochs and Fox for renewal of their license to operate WTXF, Philadelphia.”
As an FCC broadcast licensee, FOX and its subsidiary broadcast stations, have a basic statutory duty to conduct those operations in the public interest.

He does not meet the #FCC's character qualifications and the license renewal should be denied for this and other pending renewals. The same is true for FOX Corp. We have joined Preston Padden in this petition.

Rupert and Lachlan Murdoch and Fox Corp have a history of scandal.
Just this year, they have admitted to allowing lying about the election on their "News" shows

And a former Fox executive has been convicted of bribing officials to get Fox broadcast rights for the World Cup.

Media Veterans Bill Kristol and Ervin Duggan have joined us in support of our request to the @FCC.
We, and they, are asking our government to consider media ownership and how it affects democracy—to consider if the Murdoch family has the required character to be granted local TV broadcast licenses.
Kristol is a prominent neo-conservative commentator. Duggan is a former FCC commissioner, head of PBS.

Someone needs to accidentally back over the Money Honey. What the hell happened to this woman? She used to be a respected financial reporter. Now, she's petulantly demanding that the Republicans impeach Joe Biden despite the fact that there's absolutely no evidence of wrongdoing by the President. Her shtick might be blindly accepted by her motivated audience on Fox, but the American people as a whole aren't buying it. You're a disgrace, Maria.
