The Gift Of Fragility

Recently, three women offered me the same, most valued gift. Fragility.

My gentle question was, 'How's things?' And the answer was a true blessing each time.

You'd never describe me as a blokey fella but as a man, I do struggle at times to put a finger on my vulnerabilities.

And those three women showed me how, with such courage and gentleness.

Fragility is not weakness or some inferior state of being - it's a gift of deep, rich humanity. And, when embraced, becomes a path to healing.

Thanks to the dear women in our lives, that so often show us the way.

Observation: "#Fragility" is a euphemism for the often violent vitriolic reactions that people have to discussions about racism or #sexism as factors in real life.

While these behaviours are easily triggered, they're anything but fragile. People are often deeply committed to their ignorance and the euphemism belies the often dangerous behaviours engaged in by those refusing to engage in dismantling #Racism.

Returning to #NineInchNails, #TheFragile eera is by far my favorite eera of Trent's work. The Fragile as a whole is one of my favorite albums of all time and always will be.

A little backstory from my own personal experience, I can honestly say with a strait face that Trent has unknowingly sustained my life during some of the darkest, loneliest, most mest up times of my existance. His music has always spoken to my soul in ways that few other minds has.

When I was struggling through the darkest days of my life in 2017, messed up on drugs, lost, completely at the mercies of my own fracturing mind, The Fragile was on constant repeat, especially when the Definitive additions, both the bootleg and official versions were released. For many years before too this album was my go-to, my safe place hidden and buried in the darkness.

So when I say that this has been one of the most influencial and relateable albums I have ever listened to, that's coming from a place in my heart I can't properly describe.

This DVD is another one of those wonderful bootleg progects done in high quality, featuring both officially released content as well as non-official with little loss in quality between. There's a little bit of everything included from this eera, even stuff that hasn't been officially released as #NIN approved content.

So please, enjoy and maybe you two can find the same emotional release in Trent's music as I have.
