@athairbirb @PublicNuisance@fosstodon.org @ademalsasa #Framwork has a support forum which normally would be favorable but then they’ve jailed it in #Cloudflare. This means not only are people excluded from that forum but existence of it means support givers are brought into a #walledGarden where their support becomes exclusively reachable. If Framework had no forum at all, at least then an inclusive community could be formed.

Well a very critical part of #futureProofing any updatable device (e.g. a laptop) is absence of #closedsourcesoftware. As soon as you have one non-free closed source component, the life of that device is inherently limited. The extent of that artificial limitation depends on which component.
