Utterly defeated today, two thirds in I had to go back without reaching #RobertsPoint at #FranzJosefGlacier. The hike is stunning, but the round rocks were just to slippery after yesterday's heavy rain and the thought of the descent on the same track scared the living daylights out of me. 😬
Deadly terror at the suspension bridges overcome for nothing. 🙄

Today I met this guy - a green hooded orchid. The little dark tongue snaps backwards to trap insects inside it so when they thrash around in panic, they get pollen all over them. Presumably they are allowed out. #FranzJosefGlacier #NewZealand #NZ #southislandnz
