For the first 6 months of 2023 NZLII has had over 13 million uses made of it. This is down on the prior 2 years but still is remarkable considering our shoestring budget.

Sometimes when looking at older cases I come across one with a young person. In this case, it was a 16 year old. The Judge worried about him becoming institutionalised at that young age.
So I checked, two years later sentenced to life imprisonment for murder. Now described as one of NZers most recalled prisoners

The New Zealand Law Style Guide went live on NZLII in March 2022 and had 138,993 page visits during the rest of 2022

With the addition of the Awards from the 1930s NZLII reached another milestone for the year (yes I am very goal orientated) - we have added over 49,000 documents to NZLII this year - that is just over a 10% increase. By comparison, in 2021 the increase was 5.54%, 2020 6.16% and 8.2% for 2019.

The fantastic Chris at AustLII has uploaded another batch of the New Zealand Awards to http://www.nzlii.org/nz/other/NZBkAwd/
That takes the collection back to 1931 - apart from 1936 which did not load for some reason. But as it is Christmas, we will not worry about that now - just enjoy/use what we have managed to put up.
