i'm glad they've walked back the censorship *somewhat,* but this debacle never should have happened. those changes to the books do not further any progressive cause. they are designed to make readers more *comfortable,* not safer, freer, or more aware.

but ultimately this is not even about the readers. it's about the comfort of the publishers, an attempt to avoid uncomfortable conversations about the values dissonance in legacy works.
