WIP. Updated a lot of the code. Added initial sound support (pc speaker) with test tune.
Now the intro can be run in DosBox in a browser!

It's running on an emulated 486DX2/66. Why exact this hardware? It was my first computer as a kid where I learned to program on QBASIC. I have a grayscale monitor and MS-DOS was the best OS to play games. And it has QBASIC :)

Got my workflow working with folder full of png's -> python script -> font.h C++ header with bit represention of glyphs in ASCII order.

You know, @olimex has been on a roll with amazing SBCs, they should totally make a vortex86 board to run FreeDOS ... Just saying... 😉

This is the innards of a fleet/vehicle wifi system. But, it's also a PC. It has an 800mhz AMD Geode, CF as ide, 512mb of ram and an award bios. I figure it's the perfect heart of a FreeDOS based cyberdeck. The trick is going to be getting IO out of it. I see it has a VGA header but who knows if it has display hardware. Time to do a little digging. #cyberdeck #freedos
