We had LOTS of tomatoes today and had a garden sauce over spaghetti, plus roasted potatoes and a TWELVE FRUIT SALAD!!! That’s right, TWELVE DIFFERENT KINDS OF FRUIT would have gone into the trash. That’s where we come in! We make it into a delicious meal to share. Please come on out any Sunday to have a meal, grab some groceries, and talk about how to get involved! We would love to have you! I have a thing about #LeftOvers. Nothing makes me happier than turning leftovers into a tasty meal.

And nothing does that better than #Panade.... Stale bread left over bits and pieces a bit of feta some veggies and liqiud...heck it can be boiling water.. layer it in a baking dish, bake it and voila, a tasty filling satisfying dish that has them asking for seconds.... This is practically #FreeFood!!!!

I gathered some immature green milkweed pods and some unopened common milkweed flower buds today. It was my first time trying both. The flower buds were good but the young pods… oh my! They were delicious! She boiled them briefly and drained them. She battered and air fried a few and says they taste like okra. Oh, and a few shoots of wild asparagus we stumbled across a couple of days ago. Also very tasty! #foraging #FreeFood #vegan

I found morels in a city park again. The children tend to smash them without knowing what they are and adults let their pets urinate and defocate near them. I took some and the mycelium under them to a forested area with the same type of trees they grew under in the park.

Hopefully they will take hold in the forest and I can get some clean mushrooms next spring.

Today I made my first swarm traps. They are only 8 liters. The pieces of wood in the top and the plastic floor have been coated in a mixture of heated beeswax and lemongrass oil.
I have never caught or tried to catch bees before. Each trap cost me about $3 and they are very light. Tonight will be cold I will put them out tomorrow morning.

It's nearly Morel season in the northern hemisphere.

If you aren't familiar with them they only fruit for about two or three weeks in the spring.
They are delicious and have a unique appearance which makes them easy for new mushroom hunters. They are naturally found under many types of trees in forested areas and often pop up in urban landscaping. March and April are the best time to find them. When Tulips are blooming, these are fruiting.

If you find some, don't pull them, cut them off just above the dirt so they will keep growing there.

Good luck and if it isn't hollow, it isn't a morel.
