Amongst the many consequences of #AcademicPrecarity are the effects on academic planning:

expert talks & invited speakers may no longer be available due to contract terminations and overall #GoodWill simply running out of steam, the same good will that so much of #academia relies on.

I speak from a position of relative current privilege and from very many years of being on #FixedTermContracts - there is a heck of a lot of #FreeLabour in academia, permanent or not.

#Student #interns work for free in #Belgium!

The largest amount of #internship hours are done in social and health sectors, where #FreeLabour is exploited. And #women are the majority of the workers in these sectors. It’s urgent to recognize and pay interns’ work!

As an alternative, stay with #AGPLv3.

The choice is:

- let #Google exploit your work as #FreeLabour, or
- force Google to pay to compete with you but starting from scratch

Never let the bully get what they want.
