What a fun year of projects! By the numbers: 13 books for 6 publishers, 6 different curricula projects for 3 clients, 233 articles: health topics and product reviews, and 39 sets of how-to painting instructions. I'm finishing up a book and workbook by Jan. 10, so hit me with your projects for mid-January and beyond!

I enjoy working on wordy text. It's pleasurable to trim redundancy and vague abstractions and to split huge, complex sentences. The author's message comes through so much more clearly following the tamping down of the din and the tweaking of the rhythm. Varying sentence length can make points come across with so much more power.

In the category of "you never know what you're going to learn on any given day as an editor," I now know what "kicker toys" are for cats. #AmEditing #LoveMyJob #FreelancerForHire #FreelancerWhoWouldRatherHaveARealJob #RemoteWorking
