Had a non-technical friend who I've helped stay on #ubuntu for around a year for his academic work complain that PowerPoint slides from his professor didn't render well in either #libreoffice #wpsoffice, #freeoffice .

I found that pretty surprising - I'd have expected slideshows to be the easier format, as document and spreadsheet compatibility seems to be much better now in 2023 than two decades ago!

Habe unter Mint noch #SoftMaker O. 2018 installiert. LK bekamen kostenlos einen Lizenzschlüssel für die Vollversion.
Zu #FreeOffice habe ich etwas im Wikipedia-Artikel gefunden:

Y honestamente me da la impresión que no se han tomado en cuenta otras opciones de ofimática libres más allá de @libreoffice (que se debe reconocer no siempre es user-friendly). También está @only_office y #FreeOffice de @softmaker.

I like the #FreeOffice from #Softmaker - even if it's not #opensource.
I like that it is a further alternative to #LibreOffice and the choice between classic menus and tabs in the user interface is also great!

Le mec de #DistroTube, généralement si calme et positif dans tout ce qu'il présente, est très en colère, et visiblement très ému de la décision de #Manjaro d'installer #FreeOffice, logiciel propriétaire, à la place de #LibreOffice.

Apparemment, utiliser des logiciels libres, ça ne se limite pas à vouloir «quelque chose qui marche». Manjaro devra remettre en question sa philosophie, ou prendre le risque d'être conspué par la communauté #FLOSS.

#freeoffice, #onlyoffice,... chaque fois qu'une suite sort une nouvelle version, l'un des arguments en faveur de celle-ci est un meilleur support des documents #microsoftoffice que ses concurrents. Pourtant à chacun de mes essais c'est #libreoffice qui s'en sort le moins mal, c'est-à-dire plus ou moins comme une bouse, il faut bien l'admettre.

Pour une meilleure interopérabilité : utilisation correcte des styles, que les polices soient incluses, qu'on utilise tous uniquement du libre... 😁
