The next major event for us in #Bremen is a #Cigar Tasting to raise money for the #Shriners and children's hospitals.

We will have a selection of three quality cigars and a full, multi-course meal included in the cover price. From the sum raised - and last year seven of us contributed two and a half thousand euro in all - one hundred percent is donated to the Shriners.

Open to all, not just #Freemasons.

I spent the evening, yesterday, visiting one of our #Turkish-speaking Lodges - of which I am a member - arranging for the Passing and Raising of candidates in a Joint Degree Work with my Mother Lodge, and enjoying not only the excellent conversation, but also a wonderful meal in a local restaurant.

I do not doubt that anyone who has come into contact with #Freemasonry has seen the long lists of famous people who were members, from George Washington right through, and marveled at the wealth of talent and splendor these names bring with them.

But #Masonry is not made up just of famous people who did well for themselves, who did well for their country, the arts and so on. It is mainly made up of ordinary people, and that makes Freemasonry special.
