Wow, what a day! A Tuesday, clearly, dear #sfba.
Such a clear, far view, almost into the end of October, aka #FremontCA. Glorious skies all day.
First pic is all the way from #BuenaVistaPark… where old trees are cracking and falling down. Indictments left and right. The landscape is changing, even here in North La Land.
But I digress. Happy Tuesday!
Number 143 (the painting) is almost done. Needs more varnish….

@complexmath @pearlbear @BlackAzizAnansi oh yeah, that picture in the linked article that Dorothea Lange took? It says it was taken in Centerville, California. Could this be the Centerville that got incorporated into #fremontca in 1956? This wouldn’t surprise me in the least to find out yes it was.
Former Western Pacific (WP) caboose 467 at the Niles Depot facing the Union Pacific Niles Sub mainline in Fremont, CA, on Wednesday, February 1, 2023
Reportedly: WP 467 was built in in 1973 by the International Car Co. After the UP merger it became a UP Class CA-16 caboose. It was stored at Council Bluffs, Iowa, from 1985. It was donated in 1988 to Niles Depot Historical Foundation, and delivered there in 1989.

Kudos to the city of #FremontCA. On my morning walk this last Saturday I came across some horrible, recently inflicted graffiti on a public sidewalk and on a park entrance. For the first time I used Fremont's phone app and reported the graffiti. On Monday morning they informed me it had been reported to the graffiti abatement team. By 9:30 am that same day, they had a man on site with a power washer. Wow. That's really great service.
