Left Stony Point on the #ferry to French Island at 10am, and arrived at Tankerton jetty about 15 minutes later. In that 15 minutes the weather had become decidedly wet, and it rained the whole time I hiked the 5.3km to Fair Haven campground on the west coast of the #island .

As the rain didn't look like it was going to abate any time soon I pondered what to do. After a while I decided to assemble my tent in the dryness of the shelter next to the gas barbeques. Once I had the inner tent and fly assembled I 'transplanted' the assembled tent to a nearby #camping spot and pegged it down. Then I quickly put the sleeping mat, pillow, sleeping back and back pack into the tent.
