STM was doing pretty well with the "10 min max" thing, but IIRC, that fell apart even before the pandemic. The catbus guy did one of the first maps I ever saw emphasizing frequency for bus routes highlighting the 10 min max stuff. Amazing. I wonder if I have a copy ...

For those who wonder if better service results in higher patronage, a couple of recent examples here: in 2021, bus routes 279 and 293 doubled Sunday services, and patronage then also doubled. #PublicTransport #FrequencyIsFreedom https://melbourneontransit.blogspot.com/2023/08/un-160-where-are-melbournes-productive.html

Montreal's new REM (Réseau express métropolitain) metro line runs every 7.5 minutes at most times... and twice as frequently (3.75 minutes) in peak hours.
I'm guessing it's partly to ensure at least a 15 minute frequency when further stages (including branches) open. #PublicTransport #FrequencyIsFreedom https://rem.info/en/travelling/hours-of-service
