Wife found me a beat up #fretless #fender at a #yardsale.
Sadly it was a mess, #bridge was shot, neck was twisted, the nut was filed below the #fretboard... no lie...!
So I ordered some replacement parts from #Fender directly... a new #HiMass bridge, a new "fretted" #JazzBass neck, some slick #nutfiles from #NomadMusic (slots on the neck are guides only) and some #DR #BlackBeauties
It turned out awesome...!
It weighs exactly 1lb heavier than my go to staple #Spector...

I stumbled across the existence of the SRH505F (also by Ibanez) semi hollow body 5-string #fretless #bassguitar.
And within six months, Craigslist delivered that to me as well, at a time when the army had just paid me a lot of owed back pay.

Some morning #fretless #guitar with my trio. Audio recording of a loose improv at a club in #Durham, #NC some years back.
It’s a $100 Sx #stratocaster. I pulled the frets, filled the slots with marine epoxy and sanded the fretboard smooth. Some #qtron #autowah thrown in around 5:24.
I used the music rebalance module in #izotope Rx to #demix and get the instruments a little better balanced.

OK, last one. This is a short excerpt from "In Pieces" from the #TransistorOST (Darren Korb, w/ Ashley Barrett on vocals).
Same #fretless and #Donner White Tape delay, but I also added the Donner Harmonic Square pitch shifter (another great $55 pedal), set to give me an octave below what I'm playing. It's subtle, but it's there and makes this even darker.
