A simple ecchi pic of my OC, Malena, touching Freyja's boob. Freyja doesn't seem too happy about it. You can get Early Access to this and my other art on Fanbox.

...of the uncivilized conciousness? Human culture to original nature? What is the view of eternal patterns on mortal apes?

In meditation and prayer we are able to manifest memes and pattern which makes us aware of a certain point of view, of different or lesser filters.

For a pagan this is for example the morning prayer to , being aware of aesthetic, purity, truth.
The worship of , the fair, the beauty but also brave and fierce.

Maybe a weird take, but I think we have to be far more critical with , how its interpreted and especially how we see the gods as personal coaches for our small scaled and highly personal problems. We as individuals are not in the center of their attention. We are collectively part of what they achieve, work through and bestow.

Instead of individualizing the things do for us humans, we should collectivize our view. How they benefit all of us humans daily. Not by how they "work woth us" on body issues or trauma.

The last thing in my view is less any God actively helping but us taking inspiration and motivation from them instead of actively comfirting you or telling you that everything is gonna be all right.

Another thing is . People closely communicate with the gods on an amateur-level. Too many people think their interpretation of any divine epiphany is automatically valid and not like... Based on their own interpretation and biases. The same goes for signs. People become so obsessed with signs, because they are anxious about being on something wrong or simply as a "proove" that the gods would care. And for that, a bunch of crows are serving as that sign and they can continue until the next anxiety attack.

Instead of making the world around them divine by seeing the deeds, the gods do for them, on a daily basis, people are shocked when the gods are not "responding" to their intrusive divination attempts.

And of course it also angers me how it is handled as "normal" to do chat-like conversations with Gods like Loki, Freyja and whonot is currently "In".

Phew.

Take what you want out of it.

A Poem for Freyja

Your voice so smooth
Pulls me awake
From the depths of dreams
The bottom of a lake

Your golden tears
Restore my second sight
Through the groves of dark bramble
I see Brísingamen’s light

Through that darkness
When stillness holds my name
You guide my vision
Igniting the flame

Magic and power
Your wisdom awakens
A rushing stream
My soul shaken

Drowning my old form
Emerging something new
Shedding this skin
Into what you always knew

Great Lady
In thanks I give
Gifts of honey and amber
A new life to live

I really love this reflection on sexism and "The goddess of sex"-Trope of
"Is Freyja the Goddess of sex?

"There are some tales about Freyja’s sexual exploits. But for the tales of her exploits, ask yourself this: is Freyja depicted as engaging in more sex acts than Odin? Or Loki? It’s certainly implied, but what’s in the literature isn’t much to go on. While some later Heathens might say that there is some kind of mystical explanation for this, we want to suggest something a little more simple.

People are sexist and their interpretation of Freyja as a Goddess of sex is because she’s characterized in the literature as a woman having sex. Why isn’t Odin the God of sex even though he’s just as frequently caught in flagrante in the literature? Or why isn’t Loki thought of as a sex God even though Loki has sex even with farm animals?

The answer is simple. Freyja’s agency in sex would have been read in medieval Germanic society as a “manly” and thus “unnatural” characteristic, which has to do with the highly circumscribed roles of men and women in that society. Where Odin, read as a man, would be seen as simply doing manly things like cheating on his spouse, Freyja would be seen as usurping a man’s role in sex and thus doing something unnatural. "

Odin (Old Norse: Óðinn) is the main god in Norse mythology. Described as an immensely wise, one-eyed old man, Odin has by far the most varied characteristics of any of the gods and is not only the deity to call upon when war was being prepared but is also the god of poetry, of the dead, of runes, and of magic.

I've been Heathen for almost 30 years and have long considered them to be separate. A lot of that is just experiential - they feel and communicate differently when I've interacted with them.

When it comes to the stories about them - especially in the Norse sources - I find it difficult in many cases to substitute one for the other. Just for a couple examples, I can't imagine Frigg sleeping with four dwarves to gain Brisingamen, nor can I see Freya asking all things to spare Baldur's life. And I expect the reaction of the Gods would have been very different if Jotuns had been demanding Frigg's hand in marriage - Odin's own wife! - instead of Freya's.

Of course, none of that constitutes any kind of proof, and UPG is only as good as its source 😀.

Norse mythology refers to the Scandinavian mythological framework that was upheld during and around the time of the Viking Age (c. 790- c. 1100 CE). Complete with a creation myth that has the first gods slaying a giant and turning his body parts into the world, various realms spread out beneath the World Tree Yggdrasil, and the eventual destruction of the known world in the Ragnarök, the Nordic...worldhistory.org/Norse_Mytholo

Oh, no, Freya's not in the movies, I'm talking about the comic books, where whether Odin is married to Freya or Frigga depends on who the currentt writer is. It was also the comic books where I first saw both being referred to as the Allmother quite a while before I started seeing it pop up from time to time in the Heathen community.

I haven't read much of Jackson Crawford's .work. I've heard a lot of good things about him - it's kind of a shame to hear he's promoting the idea that they're the same goddess. I know I've reached out to both Frigg and Freya and gotten distinctly different responses from them!
