Somewhat obsessed with the cut of this 1740s "tight back" aka English Gown at the Museum of Fine Arts Boston, which says the configuration is altered from a long sack.
I love the large extravagant scale of the brocaded silk and the generous silhouette!
The museum accession no. is 43.1642a-b.
