@mtmail countries (and major cities) that changed names in last 50 years was our June 2022 #fridaygeotrivia question.
It's more than you think:
https://blog.opencagedata.com/post/geotrivia-june-2022
As mentioned in July, this month there will be no #fridaygeotrivia due to summer holiday. The competition will resume in September.
But ... you can always quiz yourself by reviewing past questions over on the blog: https://blog.opencagedata.com/tagged/fridaygeotrivia
@opencage @atanas For historic sake: #fridAygeotrivia, not #fridygeotrivia (or is the a on another country's zip code)? ;-)

@opencage Yess! TWO months of emoji trophy ๐ bragging rights! ๐บ๏ธ โ๏ธ #fridaygeotrivia
@opencage Thank you for hosting! and all co-players for a nice play! #fridaygeotrivia
The winner of the July 2023 #fridaygeotrivia emoji trophy ๐ is ... @IIVQ
Congrats!
Well done to all who played. ๐๐๐๐
Next month we will probably take a summer break (not 100% certain yet)
@opencage I would have to press deeper to know for sure, but Meฤureฤje is a Bosnian๐ง๐ฆ exclave surrounded by Serbia๐ท๐ธ and on https://zip.nowmsg.com/rs_postal_code.asp?CityName=Me%C4%91ure%C4%8Dje I find they have a Serbian postcode (32255) #fridaygeotrivia
And with that ๐๐๐ we are done with #fridaygeotrivia for this month.
Please let us know if you think we missed any.
Now to tally up the score and announce the winner ...
Point! to @IIVQ who correctly notes that that the Austrian ๐ฆ๐น pene-exclave of Jungholz uses German๐ฉ๐ช postal codes
@opencage Austria๐ฆ๐น uses German๐ฉ๐ช postal codes - and Austrian postal codes, in the pene-exclave of Jungholz: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jungholz #fridaygeotrivia
Point to @ambrosen for Guernsey ๐ฌ๐ฌ which uses the UK postal system #fridaygeotrivia
@brunogirin wait, apologies. it looks like @R1Rail got this answer first. Apologies for the confusion. The point is duly reassigned.
@opencage And depending on what you mean with "other country", Farล๐ซ๐ด used to used Danish๐ฉ๐ฐ postcodes but now use their own, 3-numbered, but are integrated into Danish system by the FO-prefix. So while Denmark uses 4-numbered postal codes, you can address to FO-100, if I understand https://da.wikipedia.org/wiki/F%C3%A6r%C3%B8ske_postnumre correctly #fridaygeotrivia
But not to be out done @IIVQ notes that Jersey ๐ฏ๐ช and Isle of Man๐ฎ๐ฒ use UK ๐ฌ๐ง postcodes #fridaygeotrivia
@opencage Greenland๐ฌ๐ฑ uses Danish ๐ฉ๐ฐ postcodes in the 39xx-range. Except for 2412, which is the post code for Santa Claus ๐ ๐ฆ (according to https://worldpostalcode.com/greenland/) #fridaygeotrivia
Power #fridaygeotrivia move by @njwatt who correctly notes that Micronesia ๐ซ๐ฒ Marshall Islands ๐ฒ๐ญ and Palau ๐ต๐ผ use the USPS๐บ๐ธ and thus bags three points
Well done!
Half a point to @matt_travis for citing the odd ๐ฆ๐ฉAndorran situation, where the postal service is run by both the Spanish ๐ช๐ธand French ๐ซ๐ท systems (though they have their own postcodes) #fridaygeotrivia
@opencage Does โParts of Ukraine๐บ๐ฆ are currently served by Russian ๐ท๐บ postal servicesโ count? ๐๏ธ
