Can a security leader who changes job every 18 months be effective at implementing change in their organisation ? I've often pondered this question as there are many "rockstar ciso's" who seem to move all of the time. I wonder if they just plant the seeds or if they actually see the crops grow? Or do they just go in, buy a load of expensive infosec solutions, jam it in the poor companies infrastructure and then end up working for the same infosec vendor as a consultant later? #fridayquestion

What's a thing that really feels like it *shouldn't* work but does?
(Inspired by my own "motivate myself by opening action figures I already own when the thing I'm motivating myself to do has much more significant inherent rewards," but I don't want to limit this to things like motivation hacks--any area works)
Oh yeah my own #FridayQuestion answer is that I visit NPR's web site most days
I occasionally go to local news sites Oregon Public Broadcasting, Portland Mercury, and Willamette Week, but probably less than once a week
Used to regularly check Slate, AVClub, and Polygon. AVClub had been a shell of its former self then moved cities without the writers I cared about
Slate felt like a mix of alarmism and contrarianism since '16 election
Polygon is intermittently great but not consistent for me
Do you regularly directly visit any personal, blog, or news publication type sites that are NOT aggregation/user-generated/etc. or from a specific google search.
Examples would be visiting NPR/a local paper/a personal blog/a webcomic on its own page.
Basically, Web 1.0 or like 1.5 before the domination by aggregators.
Comment the ones you visit and/or toot w/ #FridayQuestion. Or comment then boost your comment (that's OK here I promise)
Plz boost for a range of answers.
