I got invited to play golf by a friend and his adult sons today. I don't play golf or even own clubs, but we went to the local course and I hired the required gear.
Everyone was very encouraging and nobody laughed until I got into the swing (pun, deal with it) of things. Even the old locals offered kind words and were very welcoming.
So anyway, that was my wholesome story about having a grown up play date.
