One part of my #Friendsgiving dinner prep is done. Growing up, traditionally everyone in our family got their stocking on Christmas Eve. It’s always got some candy, some kind of toy, something for the kitchen/house/garage, and something just plain dumb. Now every year when I host my friends, I like to carry that tradition forward, so every guest gets a similar stocking before dinner. 
It also gives them something to do if my cooking is running late.

🤷🏿‍♂️ We're having a late #Friendsgiving today to keep the season going. We are each supposed to make and bring tasty dishes from our culture. I was going to make Nigerian red chicken. But you know what? I didn't. And now it's too late. You can't rush these flavors.

So my friends will get red chicken from the Nigerian restaurant. It'll be tastier than mine would've been, so they can be thankful for that.

What I think makes this moment especially silly is that every time this particular friend asks to hang out, I always ask whether there will be fire involved. I don't really know how or why this started. But she handed me this little torch and wow, it finally happened.
