I relied on both #nitter and #fritter to unofficially follow those accounts I still felt a connection with. Now that's simply not an option anymore :blobshrug:

I never had an account on the birdsite but was a regular reader of a very select group of accounts using #fritter. It used to be my go-to source for pandemic updates, latest papers and pre-prints on SARS-CoV-2 and after the official dismantling of most publicly available epidemiological metrics my source fot modelled incicence rates. (thankfully @RV_enigma and @aloa5 are already here)
That is all gone now.
At least a few bots in the fediverse still seem to be able to fetch tweets.
